Black Bears Earn Victory Over Tribe On Homecoming
Alfond Stadium Orono, ME- On Saturday, October 15th the Black Bears took on William & Mary Tribe who was coming into Orono with a 4-1 and 2-0 record prior to Saturday.
The Black Bears would get the 27-16 victory on a off and on rainy day Homecoming Saturday.
Maine would get the early lead as Freddie Brock would find the end zone with a 7 yard TD pass. William & Mary would keep the game close in the first half only allowing 17 points which also included a Messina field goal and another Brock 22 yard rush with 40 seconds left in the first half to give the Black Bears 17-0 lead at the half.
Maine would get a crazy touchdown catch by Devin Young for a 35 yard TD catch thrown by Robertson as the ball deflected off the Tribe’s corner back in the back of the end zone with 6:13 left in the 3rd qtr.
The Tribe would get on the board with 2:52 left in the 3rd qtr as Darius Wilson would scamper in for a QB run 1 yard out followed by a two point conversion to cut Maine’s lead to 24-8.
After a Messina 42 yard FG with 11:52 left in the game. The Tribe score on a Wilson to Zach Burdick for a 75 yard Pass followed by a Wilson two point conversion.
Maine improves to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in CAA while The Tribe drop to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in CAA.
Maine travels to UAlbany Saturday, October 23rd while the Tribe host Towson Saturday, October 23rd
