Orono Red Riots #15 Chase Campbell and #10 Pierce Walston celebrate as the Red Riots get the 7-0 victory over Bucksport High School Friday, October 29th

Hampden, ME-  The top Seeded Orono Red Riots would take on the Golden Bucks of Bucksport High School Friday, October 29th at Hampden Academy to move on to play for the chance to play in Northern Maine Championship Soccer action. However, the Red Riots were too much for the Golden Bucks as they would get a dominant 7-0 victory. 

The Golden Bucks were coming off a 2-1 double-overtime victory from Thursday, October 28th as they defeated the Penquis High School Patriots. The Bucks were able to keep it close as the Red Riots only led 1-0 heading into halftime as Ben Francis would give the Red Riots the early lead. Francis wouldn’t be done however, he would connect on another goal to go with Pierce Walston, Adam Henderson, Andrew Melanson, and a pair of goals by Hashim Wise to give the top-seeded Red Riots the opportunity to move on to play Fort Kent Tuesday, November 2nd for the Northern Maine Championship at Hampden Academy. The game will start at 630pm at Hampden Academy
